Service Learning
The Department of Sociology offers two service learning courses during the year.
Homelessness (SOC3061)
An examination of the causes and consequences of homelessness in the United States with an emphasis on the City of Cincinnati. Students will participate in an unpaid service experience with a community service agency serving the homeless.
Applied Sociology (SOC3048)
This is a service learning course in which students use their sociological education in practical settings. Emphasis is on the application of sociological theory, concepts, methods, and findings in non-academic settings.
