Cincinnati Conference on Romance and Arabic Languages and Literatures (CCRALL)

Established in 1980, CCRALL is the oldest student-run conference in the United States. To maintain quality, the conference accepts up to 120 papers, ensuring a meaningful experience for participants. Our hybrid format, allows attendees to engage with important topics in their fields while benefiting from the rich history and connections fostered by CCRALL both virtually and in person.

Summer Language Institute (SLI)

The Summer Language Institute supports K-16 language practitioners seeking to employ contemporary, research-supported best practices for world language instruction in their classrooms. Specifically, the Summer Language Institute will focus on equipping pre- and in-service foreign/world language, heritage language, immersion, and ESL/EFL educators with training on how to both modify existing curricula and create new course materials that adhere to ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages. The Summer Language Institute runs in person every summer for three days, hosted at the University of Cincinnati.

Curricular Enhancement, Development, Access, and Research Language Resource Center (CEDAR LRC)

CEDAR LRC is a Title VI LRC funded by the United States Department of Education, established in the Fall of 2022. The CEDAR LRC focuses on the provision, enhancement, and evaluation of language curriculum materials that create transformative experiences for learners and educators alike. The CEDAR LRC both develops and researches the impact of leading-edge curricular materials for language learners from kindergarten through postsecondary levels. Its four focal areas are virtual reality (VR) for curricular design, the development of inclusive materialscommunity and institutional partnerships, and theory-to-practice research. Curricular materials at the CEDAR LRC will all be publicly available as open educational resources (OERs).
