Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Facility

The University of Cincinnati Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility is located in 409 Old Chemistry. This facility supports the research of faculty and students in the Department of Chemistry, as well as other departments, universities, and industry. The NMR facility offers both solution and solid-state capabilities with its three NMR spectrometers ranging from 9.4 to 11.7 T.  Contact Dr. Alex Greenwood (greenwa2@ucmail.uc.edu, 513-556-9211) for instrument training, experiment scheduling, or more information.

People

Alex Greenwood, Manager
(greenwa2@ucmail.uc.edu, 513-556-9211)

Dr. Alex Greenwood serves as the manager of the UC NMR facility. Alex has a broad background in NMR spectroscopy, with experience in proteins, peptides, and small molecules in solution and in the solid state both using magic-angle spinning (MAS) and oriented-sample (OS) approaches. His more recent academic contributions include applying density functional theory (DFT)-based chemical shift calculations to solid-state NMR-based structure calculations of both proteins and pharmaceuticals.
