The A&S Student Support Team is tasked with providing holistic support to all Arts and Sciences students. Our mission is to support students by connecting them to resources for academic success, belonging, wellness, and financial literacy. Your support team will assist in the elimination of barriers that students face in their journey toward graduation. They will encourage students to utilize campus resources, maintain good academic standing, complete required academic resilience plans (success plans), and make positive progress toward graduation and beyond!

When Support Staff may assist:
- University/ College Readmission- If a student has been suspended or dismissed due to poor academic performance. The student will need to appeal for readmission.
- Low GPA- Student with cumulative grade point averages below a 2.0.
- Academic Rehabilitation- Options students can utilize to rehab their grade point average and graduate.
- GetInvolvedUC- The university’s student engagement hub. Here students can find, clubs, trainings, workshops, networking opportunities, professional development, and fun opportunities to connect with other students.

- SAP Appeals- Student who have lost aid due to poor performance or suspension and dismissal.
- Tuition Refund Appeal- Students who qualify to receive a partial or full refund back on tuition based on extenuating circumstances.
- A&S Emergency Fund: The A&S Emergency Fund is designed to provide short-term financial assistance to A&S undergraduate students with emergency expenses resulting from situations such as accidents, illness, or death of a family member.
- Bearcat Emergency Fund: Apply for help with unexpected emergency expenses such as accidents, illness, death of a family member, medical deductible, temporary housing or food, and more.
- UC Financial Aid: Discover your options for FAFSA, scholarships, grants, loans and federal work-study funds through UC.
- Bearcats Pantry and Resource Center: The center provides free food, hygiene items, meal vouchers for campus dining halls, cleaning supplies and professional clothing. Check the website or email BearcatsPantry@ucmail.uc.edu.

- UC Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) / Find a Counselor: CAPS provides free, stand-alone appointments to give you fast access to single therapy sessions focused on your needs.

- UC Bearcats Support Network (Peer Support): Connect with fellow Bearcats in support groups led by peers who have been trained with holistic health and wellness resources in virtual or in-person meetings.

- Temporary Assistance- Students who develop a short term illness, injury or experience a life event needing short term assistance.
- Medical Leave of Absence Form (MLOA)- Typically for students who are experiencing a medical condition that either is or has impacted their ability to persist academically.
