Physics Learning Center

The Physics Learning Center (PLC) in Room 304 of the Geology/Physics Building is a resource for students taking Physics courses at the 1000 and 2000 levels. During scheduled hours, a qualified department assistant is available to help you understand course material and build problem-solving skills.

The PLC is open Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM for the Fall semester. To get the best help for your class, please note the two types of sessions offered below:

• General Walk-in Hours (Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM): Drop in anytime during open hours for open study space, peer assistance, and general coursework support across all 1000 and 2000-level courses. TAs can help with all Physics Homework, Recitations, or other classwork.  Several can also help with Physics Labs.  You are welcome to attend any walk-in time available. All PLC staff should be able to answer your questions.

• Physics 1 & 2 Course-Specific Sessions: Dedicated tutoring blocks tailored specifically to course material, problem sets, and exam review for Physics 1 and Physics 2. (See full weekly schedule below for exact days and times). 

• All sessions are in-person. Students receive an activity upon arrival if they plan to stay for a minimum of 30 minutes.
• You may arrive anytime during the session window. 
• PLC Sessions are lead by experienced TAs and Instructors from your physics class.
