Heidi Kloos’ research interests are the basics of knowledge development and children's STEM learning, using the lens of systems approaches. Her teaching interests lie in Statistics, Cognition, Learning, and Cognitive Development.

Macey Cartwright's interests are in children's learning and development. Her research focuses on finding creative scientific solutions to achievement gaps faced by disadvantaged populations. Specifically, Macey seeks to impact how educational systems approach math learning for children in poverty by building bridges between research and the organizations that serve this population.

I am currently a full-time student at the University of Cincinnati pursuing a BA and BS in Psychology and a certificate in Deaf Studies. I work part time at UC’s Campus Recreation Center as an aquatics supervisor and at UC international as a student worker. I am also a research assistant for the Children’s Cognitive Research Lab and the Healthy Kids Lab, both in the psychology department. I’ve been involved in the Children’s Cognitive Research Lab for 2 semesters helping facilitate a math intervention service that utilizes a tablet-based approach to enhance student’s learning. I have been involved in the Healthy Kids Lab for 4 semesters helping with a variety of SONA system studies, as well as the Healthy Start to Feeding intervention.

I am currently a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Neurobiology. I plan to go to Medical school once I graduate with the hopes of becoming a surgeon one day. I work at the Arlitt Center on the Playscape research project, as well as at the UC Learning Commons as an SRS Leader. I am also a Research Assistant in the Children's Cognitive Research Lab, working mainly on the Math Practice project.

Maame-Saa Akua Arko

I'm currently a full time student at the University of Cincinnati studying neuropsychology and psychology. I work part time in Lebanon as an after school site coordinator, making sure to keep the programs running under ODJFS standards. I am also a research assistant for the Children's Cognitive Research Lab. My first semester, I served on the IRB team, making sure to keep the research studies and consent forms of the lab up to date. My second (and current) semester, I joined the onboarding team, and helped new and current RAs gather and complete all of their paperwork. I also act as a facilitator in a classroom that's using a math program to aid and develop children's math competency.

I am a third year majoring in Psychology with a Medical Humanities Certificate and a Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) minor at the University of Cincinnati. I will be graduating in Spring of 2020 and I am currently in two research labs: the Children's Cognitive Research Lab (CCRL) and the Human Resources and Workplace Effectiveness Lab (HRWE Lab). I am currently in charge of IRB for CCRL and assist with other various tasks in both labs. In addition to that, I am rather involved on and off campus. I am currently a peer leader and some of the clubs I am in include Psi Chi, Greek Life, and A&S Ambassadors. This summer, I will be interning in London with Turning Point (a substance abuse company) and I could not be more excited!

I am current full-time student at the University of Cincinnati pursuing a degree in Neuropsychology. As part of Children's Cognitive Research Lab I have designed and implemented a digital storage organization and communicated this directive with the entire team. I also work as a Peer Leader in the Learning Commons office. I am passionate about mentorship and leadership, and will strive to continue to affect other college students post-graduation this December.

Blair Eberhart is a third year Psychology BA major. She is a research assistant in the Children's Cognitive Research lab. She also is a student hire at the Arlitt Child and Family Research Education Center. She spent four years volunteering and operating her local food pantry and continues to volunteer. After graduating with her BA in psychology she hopes to go to grad school for school psychology.

I work at the Campus Rec Center and I’m a member of the Children’s Cognitive Research Lab. I am involved in maintaining the lab website as well as a being a tutor.

I am currently a full-time student at the University of Cincinnati pursuing a degree in Psychology. I am a student worker at the university for Resident Education and Development (RED). This is my first semester in the Children's Cognitive Research Lab where I have been testing children through a series of games and coding their data in order to identify how belief systems are formed and upheld. I also help manage the physical and online storage for the lab to ensure and maintain an efficient system of order.

I am currently a full-time student at the University of Cincinnati earning a major in Psychology, a minor in Philosophy, and a certificate in Legal Studies with aspirations to attend law school and work as an attorney. I work as a Resident Advisor on campus, where I am responsible for the safety of the residents. I am also a Research Assistant for the Children’s Cognitive Research Lab (CCRL). I have worked in CCRL for 5 semesters helping facilitate math and reading intervention services that utilizes a tablet-based approach to enhance student’s learning.

I have been part of the Children's Cognitive Research Lab at UC for 3 semesters and I help lead a study where we use a tablet based intervention to aid math learning in a 3rd grade clasroom.

Priya Pandey is currently a full-time senior student at the University of Cincinnati. She is pursuing her Psychology B.S degree. Her future goal is to work in the clinical mental health field. She has a focus in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders in children and adults. She is currently a Research Assistant for the Children’s Cognitive Research Lab. She has been involved in the lab for two semesters. She was involved in updating an online google drive, online cataloging the lab’s library, and conducting a literature review on intrinsic motivation in schools.

For the past year I have been a Research Assistant for the Children’s Cognitive Research Lab helping facilitate math and reading interventions with children. As well as being involved in the research lab I am also an undergraduate intern at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics with a concentration on Autism Spectrum Disorders. After graduation I hope to work with children with developmental difficulties.

I am currently a full-time student at the University of Cincinnati working on earning my bachelors degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. I work during any time I have off from college at a family owned construction company where I work with a small team on the construction, remodeling, and fixing of homes and other buildings. I am also currently a Research Assistant for the Children’s Cognitive Research Lab. I am new to the lab this semester but plan to be in it for a couple years to come. I am part of the science research team and also apart of the storage team which works to keep the lab organized and running smoothly.
