Why study Land Ethic: Conservation?

In partnership with the Aldo Leopold Foundation, the Land Ethic - Conservation micro-credential provides training at the intersection of the natural and social sciences, a pathway informed by the ecological philosophy of a land ethic, and one designed to provide practice of the applied skills one must possess for professionals in conservation and sustainability fields today.

SEaS is uniquely positioned to meet the challenges of educating students for environmental careers in this century. Increasingly government agencies, businesses, and nonprofit organizations recognize the need for a workforce that understands the connections between the physical environment, society, and culture. About a third of our graduates continue with graduate studies. The others find employment, mostly within three months of graduation. Our students have made careers in areas as diverse as convservation, environmental research, community planning, environmental education, natural resource management, and environmental law.

It provides insights on industry, occupation, compensation, and projected growth for each profession. Economic and workforce information is available for various geographic regions. Some careers may require additional training or education.
