What is Chemistry?

Chemistry is the study of all matter found in living structures, geological formations and human-created products. Chemists explore the molecular structure of matter in order to develop theories about how such structures work and to apply these theories to the development of products that range from pharmaceuticals to heat shields. The certificate in chemistry provide a strong foundation in chemistry with the opportunity to include biochemistry coursework as well.

The McMicken College of Arts and Sciences certificate program in chemistry is well suited for individuals with a background and interest in science and degrees in fields outside of chemistry.
