A&S IT Services
A&S IT is in the process of migrating A&S computers from workgroups or ARTSCI domain to UCIT’s AD domain.
What is it?
Computers belong to a small Workgroup or a larger Domain for login authentication and authorization. For example, when you log in to your office computer which belongs to the ARTSCI domain, a domain controller authenticates your credentials and authorizes you to log in and grants proper permissions for your shared folders and files. This project is the base project of A&S IT future projects. A&S IT will be migrating computers on a departmental basis. We need your timely cooperation and support.
How does this benefit me?
The benefits of this migration include: (1) utilizing the University Single Sign - On logon process (Central login) and systematic expiration of passwords. Another benefit will be (2) smoothly integrating to UCIT Enterprise software solutions for network security and software configuration/distribution in future A&S IT projects.
What should I do?
(1) Move all of your files from home directories if they exist to your Box@UC folders; and (2) Make college owned computers available for auditing by A&S IT technician.
What should I expect?
A&S IT will (1) meet with you, change computer from Workgroup or ARTSCI domain, (2) audit computers for the A&S equipment database, and (3) print and post computer barcode to your computers.
