Bruce Schefft

Professor Bruce Schefft earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1983, interned at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center, and then joined the University of Wisconsin medical faculty.

Following a three year stint at Northern Illinois University, Bruce joined the faculty of the UC Department of Psychology in 1989. He was tenured and promoted to associate after a few years and was then promoted to full professor in 2007.

Bruce published widely, particularly on the clinical neuropsychology of epilepsy. Bruce played a leading role in creating the neuropsychology program in the UC Department of Psychology and for many years was the director of the program. In addition, he served on the editorial boards of two leading journals in the field, mentored 15 doctoral students, and published 60 journal articles. Bruce is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
