TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSORSHIP AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI
Applications are invited for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, which offers BA, MS and PhD degrees. The position will begin on August 15, 2019. Review of applicants will begin on December 1, 2018, and the position will remain open until filled.
Job duties include maintaining an active research program in pure or applied mathematics, with emphasis in the area of partial differential equations (broadly construed) that complements current department strengths in analysis, differential equations, and applied mathematics. Responsibilities will also include mentoring graduate students, teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics, and filling service roles for the university and mathematical community such as participation in department and college committees, editorial work, and engagement with professional organizations. The standard teaching load for research-active faculty is 6 credit hours per semester. New faculty receive a 25% teaching reduction and reduced service role in each of the first 2 years.
Qualifications: The position requires a PhD degree in mathematics or a closely related field. The degree must be awarded, or all requirements for the degree completed, before August 15, 2019.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences within the College of Arts & Sciences has varying needs for adjunct instructors to teach courses at the undergraduate level, in both the day and the evening. You are invited to submit an application to be included in the general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming academic term (as needed). Appointments are renewed based upon departmental need, enrollments and teaching performance. Classes may be day or evening. Rank and compensation are based on experience and academic credentials, which must include a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours earned in mathematics and/or statistics.
