Set an Appointment

  1. Log on to Blackboard
  2. Click the Starfish link under My UC>Tools or My Advisor
  3. Scroll to McMicken Writing Center. There you will see when tutors are available, and you can self schedule.

DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAM STUDENTS ONLY:

  1. Make an appointment through Starfish and enter Distance Learner in the "Detailed Description" box.
  2. Submit your paper to us using Google Docs. Log in with your Google account, upload your paper, and share it with mcmickenwc@gmail.com.
  3. We will read and return your paper with comments at the end of your scheduled appointment.

About the Writing Center

Our primary function is to consult with those who come to the Center to become more competent and self-confident writers by helping them improve their writing skills. We do not provide editing or proofreading services, though we will be happy to address mechanical and grammatical questions within a tutoring session.

Our tutoring staff is drawn from a pool of UC writing instructors familiar with college-level writing problems and ways to solve them. We are charter members of the Ohio Writing Center Consortium.
