Study abroad provides an ideal opporunity to experience the commonalities and differences of women's lives. It is also increasingly important for understanding and engaging in global feminism. You can learn a language or hone your skills; you can travel and still receive academic credit. Even students without a second language can find opporunities to study in programs conducted in English or in English-speaking countries.

You have many different options for Study abroad:

• Participate in the Department’s North American Women’s Studies program and study for a term or a summer session in Canada at York University (Toronto) or Mount Saint Vincent University (Halifax) or in Mexico at El Collegio de la Frontera Norte (Ciudad Juarez--graduate students only) or the Universidad de las Americas (Puebla). Open to advanced undergraduates and graduate students, this program allows students to pay UC tuition and receive UC credit. Click here for more information.
• Enroll in Women's Studies program at a university in another country for a term or over the summer and transfer the credits.
• Study Women's Studies within another U.S. unversity's study abroad program and transfer the credits.
• Use Research Hours and Independent Study credits to design our own program. Consult with your advisor and hte Women's Studies Graduate Director, Beth Ash or Undergraduate Director, Chris Cuomo, to ensure you meet the undergraduate/graduate requirements.
