What is Women's Studies? (top)
· Women's Studies in an interdisciplinary field of study that helps us   understand the complexity of both women's and men's lives. Through
a broad range of subjects, Women's Studies raises questions
about gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality and class.

·
Women's Studies encourages critical thinking about personal identities,   cultural and artistic expressions, social arrangements, economic and   political systems, and global issues through studying the multiple   perspectives and experiences of diverse women and men.

Women's Studies examines women's roles and achievements historically   and cross-culturally and challenges stereotypes of women and men.

Because it promotes self-awareness and empowers individuals to work for   social change,
Women's Studies is one of the fastest growing fields of study   in higher education.

What does Women's Studies offer me? (top)
· Women's Studies offers a challenging and flexible course of study for   students with wide ranging academic interests.

·
Our classes are generally small and promote active learning by   enabling students to engage with dedicated faculty.

Students say that  Women's Studies courses help them grow and find their   "voice."

·
Women's Studies is not just for women--men are involved both as professors   and students.

·
Our undergraduate students complete a ten-week internship program that   provides practical experience to connect with their classroom studies.   Students work in select organizations (local, national, or international) that   are active on issues of gender and social justice.

·
Women's Studies challenges students to think about themselves
  and the
world and to take responsibility for advocating for social change.
