In Spring 2002, the Department of Women's Studies began organizing the UC Women's Research Network to bring together faculty with expertise in social science research on women. Such a network will position us to develop and seek funding for status of women and girls research projects in the local area and beyond. The Department director previously co-organized a similar project at Wright State University, which yielded the first study on the Status of Women in Montgomery County. For results of that study and the database developed through it, visit the WSU Women Research Network. Similar gender-sensitive data is needed for Cincinnati, other urban areas in Ohio, and elsewhere.
