Application to Become an Affiliate Faculty Member of the University of Cincinnati Department of Women's Studies
Indicate why you wish to become a Women's Studies Affiliate Faculty Member by providing a brief (1-2 paragraphs) description of your activities that meet any two of the following three criteria. Please e-mail this information to patti.jeffries@uc.edu for action by the Women's Studies Governance Committee.

a. Teach a Women's Studies class (see course guidelines for having a new or existing course approved for Women's Studies credit), do Women's Studies (feminist/gender) research, or serve as a Women's Studies bibliographer in the library on an ongoing basis;
b. Regular service to Women's Studies, such as serving on Women's Studies Committees and as a reader for Women's Studies MA papers;
c. Act as a mentor or advisor to Women's Studies graduate and undergraduate students on an ongoing basis. Also indicate your
willingness to serve periodically on Women's Studies standing and/or
ad hoc committees;
5. Attach a current CV.
Benefits of Affiliation:
Approved affiliates may identify themselves professionally as Women's
Studies affiliate faculty. They are placed on the department's listserv and mailing
list; some
are eligible to vote on department policy; and all may apply for Women's Studies travel and mini-grants and
serve on department committees. Some committee service is expected from
time to time by all affiliates. Complimentary memberships in the Friends
of Women's Studies are also available to affiliates for a limited time.
Affiliates who hold full-time, tenured or tenure-track appointments in
the McMicken College of Arts & Sciences and are interested in joint
appointments with Women's Studies should contact the department
head at anne.runyan@uc.edu.
