About Russian and Eurasian Studies
The University of Cincinnati’s program in Russian and
Eurasian Studies focuses on the study of the
cultures, history, and politics of Russia and
the states of the former Soviet Union. The region
represented by the territory of the former USSR,
which includes the basins of the Black and Baltic
seas, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and the Russian
Far East and Siberia, is an enormous and diverse
area whose geopolitical position, rich natural
resources, and influential ideologies are of
growing international significance. UC’s
program in Russian and Eurasian Studies allows
interested students to deepen their understanding
of this fascinating and increasingly important
world region.
