Graduate Residents

The Community Advisor is selected by the Graduate Admissions and Awards Committee of the Department of Romance Languages and approved by the faculty. The CA serves is responsible for the daily management of Valentine House and its academic programs. The CA meets with the Resident Advisors every week and reports six times a year to the Board (at the end of October, November, January, February, April, and May), describing all financial expenditures, the progress of the language-immersion program, and recent or upcoming cultural and social events. Resident Advisors are selected by the Graduate Admissions and Awards Committee of the Department of Romance Languages and serve as advisors to the residents of their floor. RAs meet weekly with the CA to plan activities and events and to communicate residents' concerns and problems. RAs also meet weekly with residents in a two-hour, two-credit conversation class.
