Valentine House

Valentine House is a French- and Spanish-language immersion residence offering undergraduate students at
the University of Cincinnati an opportunity to extend their academic interests into their residence life. Valentine House allows French and Spanish studying students to practice and improve their language skills in an environment devoted to academic excellence, diversity, and international cultural exchange.

The 22 undergraduate students living in Valentine House (11 in French, 11 in Spanish) speak their target language on a daily basis, both in normal conversations and at events hosted by the community. Each residential floor benefits from the expertise of a graduate Resident Advisor who is a fluent speaker of French or Spanish and lives with the students. A graduate Community Advisor fluent in French or Spanish manages the academic, cultural, and business affairs of the House under the supervision of the Department of Romance Languages and the Valentine House Board of Directors.
Valentine House features a library, a seminar room, a lounge, an outdoor terrace, a film screening room, and a professional kitchen. Cultural events linking Valentine House with the community take place throughout the year.
