Basic Spanish Courses
The Spanish language originated on the Iberian Peninsula, where it is spoken
by more than forty million people. It is the principal language of Mexico
and the island nations of Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.
Spanish is spoken throughout Central America in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador,
Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. It is the principal language
of nine countries in South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia,
Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Spanish is the second language
of Brazil and the United States and is widely spoken in the Philippines.
