It is one of the principal languages of Africa, spoken in Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco Niger, the Central African Republic, Reunion, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia, and Zaire. In Asia, French is spoken in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.
