We are broadly interested in the relationship between the mind and the brain from a developmental perspective. We typically combine cognitive and behavioral studies of school-aged children with corresponding brain scanning experiments. The brain scanning experiments make use of non-invasive techniques such as anatomical or functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to take pictures of our brains as we think different thoughts. Current projects include (1) central auditory processing in relation to cochlear implants in the developing brain; (2) auditory memory development and the brain; (3) speech processing in the developing brain.
