The Philosophy Department plays a central role in the Brain
and Mind Studies Program.
Brain and Mind Studies is a multidisciplinary curriculum that allows
students to integrate the study various disciplines that study psychology
and its natural basis in humans and animals. Such disciplines include
psychology, philosophy, biology, neuroscience, and computer science.
Brain and Mind Studies core courses are taught in the psychology and
philosophy departments, and the major requirements also include a hands-on
research component.
Brain and Mind Studies is a track within the Bachelor of Interdiscplinary
Studies major, resulting in a B.I.S. degree. It can easily be combined
with a minor in philosophy or psychology.
