Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership
The BA with a major in Organizational Leadership provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become effective leaders within organizations and society. The program is interdisciplinary and combines a liberal arts education and selective business subjects with classes, guest lectures, and seminars in leadership. This program provides a coherent pathway for students wishing to become leaders by targeting seven skill areas essential for leadership, organizational success, and a lifetime of personal and professional achievement: Leadership, Teamwork, Organizational Effectiveness, and Social Change; Written, Oral, and Electronic Communication; Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making; Information Technology; Quantitative, Financial , and Analytical Analysis; Global Awareness and Diversity; and Ethical Decision Making. Students are required to take a 3 credit hour capstone course. The capstone, taken in the senior year, provides the opportunity for students to operate in an approved leadership role. Students are expected to synthesize and report their experiences as they relate to the theoretical foundations of leadership being studied.
