McMicken College of Arts & Sciences
Center for Organizational Leadership
Degree Requirements
Students Enrolled Prior to Autumn 2002
Evening College Transition
Effective with the start of Autumn quarter 2002, UC’s Evening College ceases to exist as a degree-granting unit. All students matriculated in Evening College degree and certificate programs as of Summer quarter 2002 will become students in other UC colleges, which will continue to offer the ongoing evening and weekend curriculum, and will award the degrees and majors these students began in Evening College. These “legacy” students will be distinguished from students beginning new programs effective Autumn quarter 2002.
Beginning in the Autumn 2002, students will not be permitted to enroll in any legacy program.
The Legacy Programs
The evening and weekend degrees previously offered by Evening College have moved to the Center for Organizational Leadership. They include: the Associate of Science (AS) and the Bachelor of Science in Applied Business (BSAB) with majors in accounting, management, and marketing, as well as the Bachelor of Science (BS) with a major in human resources.
These degrees with their attendant major fields will continue to be awarded by McMicken College to former Evening College students until August 2006, when accreditation for the BSAB expires (the BS major in human resources does not expire). Students who know or suspect that they may be enrolled in the BSAB beyond August 2006 may adopt the degree title Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership (BSOL) with a major in Organizational Leadership. Their curriculum will not change. The BSOL will be terminated in December 2008.
