Hello and welcome to the Center for Organizational Leadership!
The Center was established in 2002 and is part of the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences. It brings together diverse disciplines involved in the study of organizational leadership. The Center enables students to develop leadership competencies, produces high-quality scholarship, and partners with local, for-profit, non-profit, and global communities in order to enhance leadership practices.
Mission
The mission of the Center for Organizational Leadership is to be recognized in the region and nationally for excellence in leadership education, research, and service. A point of distinction for the Center is its focus on leadership across boundaries. In an increasingly diverse, global, and technology-driven workplace, leaders are often confronted with the challenge of leading those who differ with respect to culture, gender, ethnicity, organizational identity, and even location. Researchers at the Center investigate how leaders can effectively bridge these boundaries to foster individual, group, and organizational performance.
Currently, the Center offers a: - Baccalaureate degree program (Bachelor of Arts) with a major in Organizational Leadership, otherwise known as the ORGL program.
- Master of Arts in Human Resources, otherwise known as the MHR program.
