Professor Haude’s research specialty is the early modern period in European history, with an emphasis on the reformations and their roots in the later Middle Ages. She is particularly interested in the Radical Reformation and how society reacted to the perceived threat of such radical thinkers and actors. Haude has also studied the role of gender among Anabaptists and Spiritualists. Over the last few years, she has expanded her research interests from the sixteenth into the seventeenth century and is investigating strategies of survival during the Thirty Years’ War (1618-1648).
