OHHS German Students Take First Place

German StudentsOak Hills High School German students attended the annual German Day at UC on Monday, April 26th. This special event allows German students from all over the Tri-State area to flex their academic muscles in various events. Out of ten area high schools, Oak Hills took first place in the Culture Bowl beating Covington Catholic in the final round. Culture Bowl finalists were Senior Mike Truitt, Junior Max Schlachter, Sophomore Nela Ahmed, and Freshman Ashley Martin.

Oak Hills had several winning students in individual categories also. The winners are as follows:
Sophomore Lauren Bluemel won in German I Reading Comprehension
Junior Linda Mueller won in German III Reading Comprehension
Junior Nikki Frankenstein won in German III Poetry Recitation
Sophomore Nela Ahmed won First Place in Postcard Design
Junior Max Schlachter won Second Place in Postcard Design
Junior Nicole Price won in Baking for "Mandelecken" or Almond Corners
Senior Ashley Moore won in Baking for "Brezeln" or Pretzels
