Why Study History?

Our undergraduate curriculum is rooted in the idea that knowledge about the past informs how we understand ourselves and the world. Our courses allow students to put the past into action. We challenge students to think critically about the society around us and our place in it. We also prepare students interested in a wide range of careers, including law, medicine, public policy, education, and business. Students who take history courses will emerge thinking differently about the past, the present, and the future and with strong intellectual skills.
