Professional Summary

Primary areas of interest include the (literary/theoretical/cultural/political) reception of biblical texts. He has published on relevant topics in a variety of journals, including Religion and Literature, Semeia, Religion and the Arts, and Biblical Interpretation. He is the author of The Pastoral Epistles Through the Centuries, and 2 Corinthians: Crisis and Conflict, and is a co-editor (with Richard Walsh) of Borges and the Bible.  His current work focuses on Paul in American cultural contexts.  He teaches courses on the Bible and literature, and the Bible in literary theory
