A minor in Africana Studies will provide students with the unique opportunity to explore and learn about the cultural, social and historical experiences of people of African origin. This knowledge can be applied to their professional skills in their major, particularly when working with people of African descent or dealing with issues that effect, or involve people of color. Africana Studies is inherently interdisciplinary and global in perspective. A minor in Africana Studies is a great complement to any major and is designed to attract students who seek to gain more knowledge about diverse cultures of African and the African Diaspora.
Regardless of your major, Africana Studies may be the right minor for you.
