A&S STUDENT ADVISING CENTER

WHAT IS THE A&S STUDENT ADVISING CENTER? Located in 102 McMicken Hall, the advising center is staffed with advisors who can help in identifying educational options, graduation requirements, policies and procedures found in college publications; or in clarifying elements on a transcript or degree progress audit. If you have attended another college or university, and plan to attend the College of Arts and Sciences at U.C., the Student Advising Center can answer your questions regarding college transfer credits. You may be referred to the Assistant Dean who reviews transcripts. Since the staff counsels over 70 students daily, it is best to make an appointment by calling 556-5860, though many quick questions can be answered on a walk-in basis. The Student Advising Center can answer any of your general education requirements questions, but only departmental advisors can make judgments about courses applying to the major.

PRO-ACTIVE ADVISING IN THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION

The Department of Communication requires that all Communication majors meet with a department advisor at least once a year. Students will be asked to schedule an appointment with an advisor to go over their degree progress audit. Students may schedule appointments in 620 Teachers College. The college no longer prints out degree progress audits for undergraduate students. Students may now access their degree at the One Stop Student Services website.
