Assistant Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures and Affiliate Faculty Member in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
Prof. Valladares-Ruiz has taught in Canadian and Venezuelan universities (McGill University, Concordia University, Université de Montréal, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, and Universidad del Zulia). Her research and teaching interests deal with issues of identity, nationalism, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, and religion in the Caribbean region.
