Professional Summary




Dr. Ivan Dinev Ivanov holds a PhD from the University of Cincinnati (2008) and Masters’ degrees from the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna Austria (2002) and Central European University in Budapest, Hungary (2001). He has taught at the University of Cincinnati and Muskingum College. His primary areas of teaching and research interests are international relations and comparative politics with focus on international security, alliance politics and NATO. Also his regional focus is European politics (Western and Eastern Europe) and the issues of political development, international law, economic growth and the politics of the European Union. His book entitled "Transforming the Club: NATO's new allies, missions and capabilities" will come out in 2010 and is published by Lexington Books/ Rowman & Littlefield Publishers.

Between 2005 and 2008 Dr. Ivanov was institutionally affiliated with the Charles Phelps Taft Research Center as a graduate fellow and assistant. The Taft Center is an outstanding place, which provides various forms of research support through competitive peer-reviewed award programs and allocations for students and faculty in the ten designated Taft disciplines at the University of Cincinnati.
