Professional Summary
Beginning the graduate program in 2001, Amber taught Effective Public Speaking that same quarter and has been teaching ever since. In 2004 she became an Adjunct Instructor, teaching mainly speech courses with an emphasis in Effective Public Speaking and Professional Speaking. In 2005, she co-authored with Dr. Steve Depoe and a former colleague the instructor’s manual to the Challenge of Effective Speaking, 13th edition. She also, assists Kris Galyen with the annual GA teaching workshop and is the co-director of the Alice M. House Persuasive Speech Contest. Her teaching philosophy is to give students a comfortable, fun and interesting learning environment. Amber received her BA in English Literature (2000) and her MA in Communication (2004), both from UC.
