Professional Summary
In addition to teaching classes in Interpersonal Communication, Persuasion, and Public Speaking, Steve also leads ETHOS - a student group committed to serving the Uptown community by putting theory into practice. He also serves as faculty liaison to the COMMunity House - a place for Communication students to live, work, and play together while building lifelong friendships. While at UC, Steve has been involved in Interpersonal Communication Outside the Box (a lecture series he founded to explore communication concepts outside of the typical classroom context), the Taft Elementary Mentoring/Tutoring initiative, and the NAMI Walks project. In addition, he works on the Interpersonal Communication Curriculum Team, serves as a judge for the Alice M. House Speech Contest, and advises majors within the Department of Communication. Steve is also a well-respected speaker and writer within the community, speaking to a wide variety of groups and organizations, including D'VINE, Alpha, Soul Experiment, The Navigators, Collegiate Ministries, Summer of Service, and Campus Life. His first novel is scheduled for publication in late 2009. Steve received his B.A. and M.A. in Communication from the University of Cincinnati, and currently calls the Gas Light District in Clifton home. Please email him for more information about ETHOS or the COMMunity House, or call the Department of Communication at 556-4440 to set up an appointment to meet during his office hours.
