Professional Summary

Professor LisaMarie Luccioni (The University of Cincinnati’s “Miss Manners”) has been on faculty at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Arts & Sciences for nineteen years, where she maintains the rare distinction of possessing a dual teaching assignment: instructing (1) an expansive range of classes to its Department of Communication while also teaching (2) business etiquette and professional image in both its Colleges of Business and Law. LisaMarie also shares an affiliation with UC’s Executive Education program, having successfully introduced her etiquette and image course into Cincinnati’s premiere certificate curriculum for corporate leaders and executives. LisaMarie is a certified image consultant through the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI), is past president of its Ohio/Pennsylvania chapter, and recently achieved the rare credential of CIP (certified image professional), the only such designation in the state of Ohio. She is officially certified in image issues by both AWIS Beauty and the Conselle Institute of Image Management, where she studied under the tutelage of Image Master Judith Rasband, one of only eight image masters in the world. She is additionally certified in business etiquette by the Protocol School of Washington, considered to be the premiere provider of global protocol instruction. Co-author of the speaking text Advanced Public Speaking: Persuasive Strategies, LisaMarie clearly understands the contributing factors that create a powerful verbal and nonverbal message. She has been featured on radio (National Public Radio), in newspaper (most notably quoted in Pulitzer-Prize winner William Safire’s On Language column), and in magazine publications regarding professionalism issues. LisaMarie most recently appeared as a live guest on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 show. She discussed the troubling topic of increased rudeness in America with her fellow guest, international etiquette icon Letitia Baldrige, former Chief of Staff for Jacqueline Kennedy during the Kennedy White House years.

Research Interests

A proud member of the National Speakers Association (NSA), the strength of LisaMarie’s consultancy can be attributed to the eclectic diversity of her client base. Her client list includes Procter & Gamble, General Electric Aircraft Engines, Nationwide Insurance, Messer Construction, Ohio National Financial Services, Engineering Excellence, Steven Schaefer and Associates, the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Bethesda North Hospital, and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She is increasingly speaking to the government sector, having worked with the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association, the Fire Department of Forest Park, the Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services, the Northern Kentucky Area Development District, and the city of Maysville, Kentucky. For those curious souls who wonder what prompted LisaMarie’s interest in the subject of etiquette, the answer would be found during her three-month political internship in Washington, D.C. She attended a high-profile political gala and was seated with some of Washington’s powerbrokers. If only she could have focused on networking; instead she spent the entire evening wondering which fork to use! She returned to the University of Cincinnati with the firm resolve to create a comprehensive etiquette and image program that would allow others to feel at ease in similar future situations. Her sincere and genuine objective is to facilitate a sense of mastery and comfort in one’s professional life while refining and reinforcing an image that reflects their personal best.
