In preparing the advertising, clearly state the qualifications that
are required and the qualifications that are preferred for the position.
These qualifications become the filters to screen the applicant
pool and ultimately provide the justification of the selected candidates.
For positions without an approved A126, or an informal opening,
the ad must state that filling the position is pending approval.
For journals that charge for advertising, consider using a short
version of the ad referencing the department or college website
for all the specifics about the position
