UGS Allocations

The 2002-2003 UGS allocation for the College, and therefore for each department, has been determined by examining the 2001-2002 UGS USAGE quarter by quarter and increasing that amount by the relevant increase in tuition. Therefore each department will have to be diligent in monitoring its UGS USAGE quarter by quarter, so that there will not be a shortfall of UGS funds near the end of the year. Please be aware also that the University Dean's office has eliminated the 8% cushion that was in place in previous years. Sound fiscal management of the UGS budget will be necessary to maintain the College's level of graduate student
support, but there will be some flexibility in the budget as there has been in previous years. The College will have a reserve of UGS dollars and it will also be able to move UGS dollars unused in one department to another department.

Please contact the College Business Office (556-5845), if you have questions concerning your UGS allocations.

Thank you all for your patience in this UGS process.

Co-Pay Policy

Only students with stipends are to be awarded a 100% UGS. All other students must generate a 10% co-pay.

No awards should commit funds beyond spring quarter 2002-03 (03S). Under no circumstances can UGS money be used to cover the quarterly ITIE fee.
