Submission Guidelines
General Format
- 12pt Font
- 1” Margins
- Times New Roman
- Double Spaced
- All Pages Numbered
- Microsoft Word 2003
- Must supply a title page as part of the document containing: Title, Full Name, Return e-mail address, Postal Mailing Address, and any relevant institutional information.
- Follow AAA style guide for other formatting issues www.aaanet.org/publications/guidlines.cfm
- We will put a link to the style guide on our website, within the publication guidelines section.
- Chicago Manual of Style Citation style (Documentary note and Humanity Style)
- We will put a link the Chicago Manual of style website, within publication guidelines section.
Types of Submissions and Lengths
- Thesis chapters/Major Research –5,000 words maximum
- Articles/Papers- 3, 000words maximum
- Book Reviews- 1250 words maximum
- All submissions should have Abstracts (except book reviews)- 150 words max.
- Author should also supply at least 4 keywords for submission, including one being sub-disciplinary designation and one being a geographical designation.
- There is no limit on keywords. The amount used will be decided by staff.
- We will also accept other types of submission by special request.
- The guidelines for these will be determined at the time of request/ contact with the journal editor/ board.
Electronic Submissions Guidelines
- Must be submitted in Microsoft Word 2003 Format
- All tables, figures and appendices should be included in the word document
- Graphic attachments, illustrations, images and pictures should be submitted as a .jpg file at 72 dpi
- Do not use automatic footnotes or embedded footnotes
- All footnotes should be treated as endnotes
- Format note numbers as superscripts within text
- Use tab rather than spaces for formatting text and tables.
- There will be no initial limitations on the number of times an author can submit articles.
- Disclaimer will be provided for Mac users. Must be sent in Microsoft version.
