To minor in African and African American Studies, students are required to:
- File the attached Application to Minor in African and African American Studies form.
- Complete 30 credit hours in courses approved for the minor. Nine of the hours must be in the area of African Studies. All African and African American Studies courses offered by the Department of African and African American Studies are eligible. Students can also petition the African and African American Studies Department Curriculum Committee to have up to nine credit hours from other academic units counted toward the minor. Three credits of individual study taken within the Department can also count toward the minor.
- Complete the degree requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences or of other colleges. Students in two-year colleges may also earn minors upon receiving their associate degrees.
- Receive no less than a C- in courses to be counted toward the minor.
- File a Petition to Graduate with a Minor in African and African American Studies form to the African and African American Studies Department Curriculum Committee by the due date prior to the quarter of expected graduation.
